Welcome back to a new Holistic approach to wellness blogposttt! Todays subject is about Kinesiology!
Kinesiology is also known as Exercise Science. It's the study of the effect movement has on the body.
It analyzes it from various perspectives such as Physiological, Anatomical, Bio-mechanical, and Neuro-psycological. Movement has such a healing effect on the body. Essentially this would be a concept similar to what physical therapy is after experiencing injury to a muscle group.
The concept is that the body can heal it self.
Movement allows blood to flow and circulate all throughout the body. Moving your body also works as a pump for your lymphatic system. This allows the water within your body to move and ideally exit the body. When no movement is conducted, this water stays still. This allows the water to become stale and essentially collect toxins. This is why Message therapist will recommend for their clients to come see them on a regular basis so "remove the toxins" through message therapy. While they are not wrong, but with movement you would essentially be doing a similar act that would naturally do what the message therapy is doing. This is why its ideal for anyone dealing with an autoimmune condition to move their body to avoid water retention. Honestly movement is great for everyone and the more we move and stay active the better health of our body we will have.
Notice I have been focusing on MOVEMENT and I have not specifically said exercise. This is because Id like to encourage and challenge everyone to increase their level of movement regardless of the current level you are currently at. Maybe you have little to no movement, this article is not to shame you or to make anyone feel bad. Im writing this to show the benefits of MOVING YOUR BODY. Its all about increasing your N.E.A.T. ( Non-exercise activity thermogenesis) This is all the energy spent while not performing traditional exercise. Ever heard of Energy in and energy out? Movement is not just about losing weight or vanity but in reality its about the wellness of your body.
MOVEMENT
-Morning walks
-Lunch break walks
-Evening walks
-Go for a hike
- Dance in the kitchen while cooking meals ( we all do this) hehe
-Go walk your dog
- Park further away in the parking lot
If you are already a gym buff or a workout queen...then excellent...Id challenge you to take it to the next level and try working out outside or twice a day. Lets just get out there and move. The more movement there is the more even our brains and mental well being well have. Thats an entirely another subject for another day with soooo much science behind it. I digress but I hope the message got across and was conveyed clearly.
