Blueberry Boost (Blast from the Past) Smoothie!

 


Good Morning all my Health Nuts out there!


While its no secret that blueberries are ridiculously good for your body, now imagine if you make a smoothie with spinach on top of it that tasted absolutely amazing! This is what wellness is all about!Feeling great in the body that we were given, we only have one body and its great to know that we can make minimal changes in our habits that can improve how we feel ultimately allowing us to feel younger. That is why I've named this smoothie Blast from the Past, lets not feel our current age. Lets feel younger than we actually are. Remember when we could stay out all night and still wake up early and function perfectly fine? So many  of us are no longer there, but imagine if our bodies could run at an optimal level as such? So enough of my pep talk, lets get into this amazing antioxidant rich smoothie! Ill first begin by discussing its health benefits for our bodies and then get into this recipe. I do this because I believe if we can understand how these nutrients will impact our lives for the better then it will be encourage us to maintain these healthy changes.



Health Benefits of Blueberries:


1. Improve Skin!- Blueberries can combat premature aging, Improve wound healing, boost collagen, reduce inflammation such as acne, eczema and psoriasis.

2. Improve Circulation! - Improve your heart health with new consumption of blueberries.Studies show with only 1 cup of blueberries nutrients into your body allows your body to improve Cell turn over.

3. Support Healthy Gut!- Speaking about the gut microbiome. There is good and bad bacteria that lives in your gut and blueberries assist in promoting balance between the two and enhancing the production of good gut bacteria ultimately allowing you to have a healthy microbiome.

4. Healthy Bones!- Bones need certain nutrients and blueberries have the micro nutrients that the bone needs such as Iron,zinc,vitamin k.

5. Managing Diabetes!- The high fiber contents of blueberries allows for lower blood glucose levels which in turn leads to improved insulin levels.

6. Antioxidant Rich!- As we all know blue berries are high in antioxidants which allow us to be free from developing disease linked free-radicals that have been linked with several cancers. Blueberries prevent the further formation of cancer cells due to a process called DNA synthesis which essentially repairs our DNA.

7. Enhancement of Mental Health- As studies are increasing in regards to mental health to prevent degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer and Dementia. Studies are heavily showing slower decline in cognitive linked diseases with the increased consumption of blueberries. They also have been shown to improve our memory.

Blueberry Boost (blast from the past) Smoothie Recipe!

1 Handful of Spinach

1 Cup of Blueberries

1tsp of Raw Honey

1/4 Cup of Aloe Vera Water

1/2 Cup of Coconut Milk


Optional Add ins!  : Scoop of Collagen, Scoop of plant based vanilla protein powder, Chia seeds, flax seeds.
